Four Years Later….

Today is our fourth wedding anniversary.

When I stop and really think about it, I can’t believe four years has gone by so quickly. And sure, some parts have seemed to drag on and on, but overall time is passing so fast. You spend so much time planning your wedding and your big day goes by so quickly in the end. Foreshadowing, I think, about how a marriage itself will go.

Kevin and I have had some of the best times of our lives since getting married. We bought a house, and we had a baby. We celebrated joys and milestones together. We’ve also had some of the worst times – deaths of loved ones, personal struggles and the struggles of those we love.

I love to share our life with the world, but it isn’t always happy and perfect. Kevin and I have both allowed each other the grace to be angry, sad, anxious, upset and then to lift each other up when that time we needed has passed.

This coming year promises to hold even more for us – we are having another baby! And Kevin is likely to deploy across the world. But we are veterans now, we’ve done this before and we will do it again. With love, we can do anything.

Someday, we’ll have been married for 64 years, and I’ll be looking back thinking that four years was nothing. I bet when I’m thinking about my life I will have so much advice and guidance for the wife I am today. Over the last four years we have been learning as we go along, and we have been doing pretty good so far!

Here’s to four years down, and a lifetime ahead of us, mon amour. <3

I’ve never felt more like a princess than in this moment.
